Measured honestly

The AI metrics, defined before you buy

An audit trail is only worth what its definitions are. These are the exact formulas, including where missing vendor data pulls a ratio down instead of quietly inflating it.

AI Token Efficiency %

Output tokens as a share of total tokens: how much of AI usage becomes generated output. Honest by design: tools that do not report token data contribute zeros and may lower the ratio.

AI Cost per Active User cents

Average AI spend per active AI user. Tools that do not report cost today, such as Windsurf, Devin or GitHub Copilot, contribute zero cost but still count as active users.

AI Cost per Merged PR $

Average AI spend per merged pull request containing commits from AI tool users. This is the line that connects AI cost directly to delivered engineering output.

AI Cost per 1K Tokens cents

Blended AI cost per 1,000 tokens. Cache-read tokens are excluded from the token count because they are high-volume and cheap, while the cost figure still includes all spend.

AI Cache Hit Ratio %

Share of tokens served from cache instead of newly processed input. A higher ratio means better reuse and lower token cost across your organization.

AI Power-User Ratio %

Share of AI adopters who are heavy users: active on AI tools for at least 16 days in a rolling 28-day window. The leading indicator that adoption is sticking.

Estimate

Put your own numbers in

Two sliders: how many engineers commit code, and roughly what you spend on AI tools per engineer per month. The output is your Waydev cost next to the AI spend it makes auditable.

Above 250 contributors, Enterprise volume pricing applies and lands below the Premium reference rate. An active contributor is anyone who pushed code in the billing month; we reconcile annually, so a busy quarter never triggers a surprise invoice.

Customer love

Trusted by 300+ companies around the world

AI made individual engineers faster. It did not make organizations faster, and it made engineering spend harder to explain. The gap between teams that adopted AI and teams that can prove its return is now the widest gap in software. Waydev exists to close it: work-first measurement, agnostic across every AI tool, on data that stays yours.

The WAY Framework: Work-first. Agnostic. Yours.

Before you buy

Questions we get on every call

Do we pay for every developer in the organization?

No. You pay only for active contributors: people who pushed code during the billing month. There are no named seats to buy, assign or reassign; when an engineer leaves and another joins, billing follows the activity automatically. Managers, executives and finance never need a paid seat at all.

Where does our code live?

Nowhere on our side. We copy the .git metadata folder, run the analysis, then delete it. Connections use your own Git provider tokens, and disconnecting a repository purges its stats. Enterprise can run fully self-hosted, so data never leaves your environment at all.

What counts as an active contributor?

Anyone who pushed code during the billing month, human or AI agent for tracking purposes, though agents are never billed. Engineers on leave or between projects do not count that month. Billing is on the annual contract seat count, reconciled once a year.

How is Enterprise priced?

A volume rate per active contributor per year, below the Premium reference of $588. The rate depends on contributor count, deployment model and support scope. You get the quote in writing at the end of the POC, invoiced in USD with net 30 or net 60 terms available.

Which AI tools can you measure?

Every major coding assistant and agent: GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Devin and others. Tools that report tokens and cost feed the full ROI picture. Tools that do not yet report cost still count toward adoption and impact, and we flag them so your ratios stay honest.

Do managers, executives and finance need paid seats?

No. Operational users are free and unlimited on Enterprise. Every dashboard, report and export is theirs to read.

What does the Waydev Agent do with our data?

It answers questions about cost, output, team performance and AI impact, grounded only in your own Waydev data. Enterprise includes unlimited questions. On self-hosted deployments, queries stay inside your perimeter.

What are Waydev credits?

Credits power every AI action in Waydev, from Agent questions to ROI reports. Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation per contributor, and Enterprise allocations are sized during the POC so you never hit a wall mid-quarter.

Can we exit if it does not work?

The POC is free and ends with the report either way. After signing, cancel inside the first 90 days for a full refund. No clawback on exported data.

How do you handle headcount growth mid-contract?

Add people whenever you need to; access is never blocked. At renewal we true up to actual usage, and if you crossed a volume tier, the better rate applies to the whole contract rather than just the overage.

Bring one repository. Leave with a number.

A scoped POC on your own code, a security package your risk team can review this week, and a volume quote you can put in front of the board.
